Beta testing

I’ll be posting beta versions of the Sixaxis Compatibility Checker app here for testing. When giving feedback, please let me know what device and firmware you’re using, as well as details of any error messages you receive. It’s also a good idea to make sure your controller can connect in the app, and that you can see button presses in the output. Feel free to email screenshots and logcats (very useful!!!) to me where appropriate. Please note that this is the compatibility checker only, and will not make the main ‘Sixaxis Controller’ app work until I do an official release.

What do you get out of it, I hear you ask? Greater chance that your device will become compatible and remain so, now, and in the future, as well as a warm fuzzy feeling inside from knowing you may have helped improve hundreds of other peoples lives.

Beta testing has finished. Please check back later.

Hi Erlend, I tried your beta straight away, though it would still not let me load the driver needed to give me my Bluetooth address it just said your device is not rooted (Nvidia Shield TV Box) if I can help with any other beta testing I will be happy to help.

The app will always require root access. There is no getting around this fact.

You might need to “allow unknown sources” under your security settings.

I have been trying to connect PS3 controller to my MiBox 3s, but failed. In all 5 types of connection, “Error: Failed to configure bluetooth” was shown, as the following:

    Touchscreen device created successfully
    Error: Failed to configure bluetooth

I have tried to pair using my Mac as well as Mi Box itself to update the master address. When I press the “PS” button, a window popup asking for PIN, but 0000 doesn’t work. Do you have any suggestions to fix the issues? Thanks a lot!

Are you saying the beta version is working on your x86 device? Which device do you have, and have you also tried version 0.7.1b (just posted a couple of hours ago)?

I have a nexus 6p. Since the update the driver will not start. And I get a message saying bluetooth share has stopped working.

So i tested this on my shield tablet, i had one of the over heating ones, first generation.
They sent me a new one so i rooted the old one to keep it to avoid the kill switch sent from Nvidia.

So i have the same problem with the main app as this beta tester.
Both controls won’t get discovered by either app, but both get discovered when i pull up the Bluetooth menu.
Some how it then discovers them.
BUT, the PS3 controller on the beta it registers the controls inputs.
My PS4 controller just controls the APP like it moves around the menu system.

So i don’t know if that’s how it’s suppose to work but it seems a little finicky if that’s the way it’s suppose to work.

Keep up the work because it would be nice it the apps would just pair on that screen and it gives you confirmation and shows you your button press.
    Andriod version 5.1.1
I think i have a Nvidia Kernel version, I’m new to this stuff.

    Good luck…

Hello, I tried the beta and it works on Android 6.0 finally, but the official Sixaxis app will not work as it gives same error as the previous compability app on Android 6.0

    Hi,

    V. 0.7.8b works on stock Android 7 (Nougat) for Nexus 6 (Motorola/shamu) with root access. However, I have not tested with a controller yet.
